What is NAS and why do I need one.

Network Attached Storage is so much more than a storage solution.
NAS stands for Network Attached Storage. A NAS is an appliance that holds multiple Hard Disk Drives and generally uses RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) to store data providing redundancy.
Currently, COVID is causing most of us to work remotely. The NAS appliance provides ready access by staff to critical business resources.

WebDav (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) clients such at NetDrive provide secure encrypted access to the NAS over an internet connection. Resources appear as a mapped drive.
Additionally, the NAS data can be replicated across multiple sites. These devices are also typically used for data backup.
The above unit holds six hard drives and using 4TB drives would store 20TB data. (RAID 5)
